Please consider making a donation to support this crowd-sourced project launched by organic farmers/activists Jim and Megan Gerritsen, of Wood Prairie Farm.
Jim and Megan are longtime organic advocates who offer one of the finest selections of organic potato varieties on the continent. For more than 36 years, they have volunteered many thousands of hours to promote and defend organic and oppose GMOs. Jim is president of the national trade group Organic Seed Growers and Trade Association, and he currently serves as lead plaintiff in the landmark organic community lawsuit OSGATA et al v. Monsanto, which is challenging the validity of Monsanto’s GMO patents. (Complete background information on this lawsuit is available at the Wood Prairie Farm website.)
In 2011, Jim was named an Utne Reader Visionary for his many years of work on behalf of numerous organic issues. Donations to help the Gerritsens build a new repair shop for their vintage seed equipment would be a terrific way to pay them back for their long service on behalf of Real Food. It may even give Jim a little more time to take on Monsanto!
