MOTHER EARTH NEWS is jumping for joy! We just won two exciting accolades at FOLIO’s Eddie Awards, which honor notable editorial achievements in the magazine world.
Our first was a Gold Award for our article Organic Pest Control: What Works, What Doesn’t. This article was based on a comprehensive reader survey about garden pests in regions across the United States, and we owe members of our Garden Advisory Group a big THANK YOU for their valuable feedback and tips that we used to create this article. So thanks! (Join our Advisory Groups to take future online surveys.)
Congratulations are also in order for the author of the Pest Control piece, the ever-excellent Barbara Pleasant, the illustrator who created the buggy art, Keith Ward, the designer of the piece, Matthew Stallbaumer, and the editor on the project, Shelley Stonebrook.
Our second win was a Bronze Award for our online Vegetable Garden Planner, an interactive tool that helps gardeners with bed design, planting times and so much more. The Planner is getting rave reviews from users, and we’re very happy that other big dogs in the magazine industry think it’s pretty darn cool, too. Congratulations to the folks at Growing Interactive, our friends who created this amazing Garden Planner software.
