I like to plant my garden seeds in specific spots in my garden beds.

To do this, I place a few sheets of toilet paper on a flat surface. Then, I make a 50:50 solution of honey and water in a fine-tipped squirt bottle. I sparingly dampen the tissue with the honey solution, drop some seeds onto the TP strip where I want them, and cover the seeds with another few thicknesses of toilet tissue. I then let the whole thing dry, before moving the strip outdoors.

When dry, I put the tape in a prepared garden bed. If the seeds need darkness to germinate, I cover the sheets with a fine layer of sifted soil and keep it moist. If they are seeds that need light to germinate, I leave the sheets on the surface, and just keep the whole strip moist.

The tissue quickly decomposes, and I get great results with this method. I use (and lose) fewer seeds this way too, and I have no need to thin later.
