This is it: MOTHER EARTH NEWS has determined the winners of the Fabulous Food Garden Contest. We had a hard time choosing from the 62 amazing entries on our Your Garden Show site, but in the end, two really stood out from the crowd.

Please join us in congratulating Belinda Mansfield of Rangeley, Maine, winner of the $500 Editor’s Choice prize. Her entry, “Belinda’s Secret Garden,” was precisely what we were looking for: a beautiful food-growing space that also substantially offsets its grower’s produce bill. If you haven’t yet, take a moment to view her attractive raised beds and greenhouse.

Our hats are also off to People’s Choice winner Love Community Garden of Muskegon, Mich. They received the most votes in the contest (a whopping 979, to be exact), therefore winning $500 to help them continue their efforts to feed local homebound seniors as well as the families who have worked long and hard to keep the garden growing.

And we were so impressed by the KCMS Victory Garden at Kent County Middle School in Chestertown, Md., that we’ve decided to award this impressive school garden $100 as runner-up. Keep up the good work, kids!

You could not have chosen the garden of a nicer person than Belinda (not to mention her garden is fabulous!)- I am so happy she won, and that Love's Community Garden won the People's Choice- they are doing great work in spite of adversity.
