Kitchen Composting

These tips will help you keep your kitchen compost free of rotten smells and fruit flies.

I make quick and easy compost material in my kitchen using an old blender. I put all coffee and tea grounds in the blender, along with eggshells, banana peels, all vegetable scraps and enough water to allow it all to grind.

I use this countertop compost mixture as a fertilizer in my flower and vegetable gardens.

Curious as to her results. Grinding up the material makes it easier to break down, but the process still occurs. During that process heat builds up and wanes, and the microbes go to work doing their jobs. While all that is happening it can be too "hot" chemically and temp wise for most garden plants. How does she get around that?
