Report From 1918 Alberta and 1973 Arkansas: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

This remarkable letter conveys an eye-witness account of neighbors helping neighbors, wherein residents of rural Alberta came together without bureaucratic intervention nor any formal organization to restore a family who lost everything to a house fire.

Around the turn of the century my grandfather, Roy Wheeler, left the Chicago area with his family to homestead in Canada.
