Dansko received the 2012 Plus Award for Design Excellence in the Women’s Comfort category. This is the eighth time — and seventh year in a row — that the comfort footwear leader has won the award.
Trade publication Footwear Plus holds the annual awards, which are now in their 13th year, to recognize the industry’s leaders in footwear design, execution and operation.
Winners are voted on by a wide range of footwear retailers, both independent and national.
Essential to Dansko's enduring success are close partnerships with its retailers, continual innovation in the comfort category, and staying true to its corporate beliefs.
“With all our products we strive for a harmonious balance between style and ease while always delivering on our all-day comfort promise,” said Dansko co-founder and CEO Mandy Cabot, who accepted the award on the company’s behalf.
Dansko continues its drive for excellence in 2013 with the introduction of seven new collections in a wide range of styles from flats to lace-up sneakers to fashion forward platform clogs. To ensure this collaboration and innovation is ongoing, this past year Dansko became 100 percent employee-owned. Part of their succession plan, this decision enables the company to deliver the quality products, exceptional service and unique culture for generations to come.
Founded in 1990 by wife and husband team Mandy Cabot and Peter Kjellerup, Dansko, literally translated as “Danish shoe,” leads the comfort footwear market in award-winning design and customer service. Today, we are 185 employee-owners strong, changing the quality of people’s lives through our products, our passion, and our commitment to a better tomorrow.
