Bastyr University is pleased to announce it has partnered with Seattle-based Choice Organic Teas to develop and launch a new line of flavorful, certified organic Wellness Teas*. This marks the first time the University has lent its name on a consumer product.
“This historic partnership is one that we felt was a perfect fit,” said Bastyr University Senior Vice President and Provost Timothy C. Callahan, Ph.D. “With our shared values and Seattle roots, Bastyr University has long been aware of Choice Organic Teas and was attracted to its depth of experience as a manufacturer of a trusted, popular and quality brand. We feel the missions and values of Choice Organic Teas and Bastyr are closely aligned and are confident that this line of products will help consumers learn more about time-tested natural herbs to support their health.”
Formulated by a master herbalist who is a faculty member in botanical medicine and ayurvedic sciences at Bastyr University, the teas are designed to support healthy body functions and enhance wellness, while at the same time providing a pleasing taste. The eight different tea blends are classified as Herbal Dietary Supplements (HDS), meaning the product has met FDA standards for quality and testing. All of the Wellness Teas are certified organic by QAI for USDA Organic certification and feature 30 different active botanical herbs that are recognized and used for their health-supporting qualities.
“This unique partnership combines Choice Organic Teas’ expertise in crafting, sourcing, blending and packaging the world’s finest ingredients with Bastyr’s expertise in the natural health sciences to craft a line of delicious teas that aim to support everyday health and well-being,” said Anne-Marie Phillips, head of sales and marketing for Choice Organic Teas.
A portion of the proceeds from each box of Wellness Teas* will benefit the Bastyr University Student Scholarship Fund, helping advance the field and practice of natural medicine by providing increased opportunities for students. The new line of teas is scheduled to hit national retail shelves this fall.
