U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has set a goal to help 100,000 aspiring farmers make their dream come true. But with the daunting array of USDA programs designed to assist in meeting this goal, many potential participants get lost in the grant and loan requirements and application processes.
The Center for Rural Affairs, a Nebraska-based nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing strong rural communities, has created a Farm Bill Helpline to show established and beginning farmers alike how to navigate the sea of USDA programs.
Visit the Center for Rural Affairs website to learn more, or call 402-687-2100 and ask for the Farm Bill Helpline.
