Springtime Wild Flowers In The Mountains

This time of the year in the mountains is a very special and unique place.  A bonus of living through our long cold and snow-filled winter is being witness to the many flowers that suddenly bloom in the mountain meadows.  These photo’s of the wild iris were taken down the road from us.  As I went to get our mail I noticed many of the mountain meadows had a profusion of these wild iris.  Portions of the meadows seemed to be carpeted in purple.  There will be a profusion of multiple-colored wild flowers the remainder of the spring and through summer.  Mountain meadows are breath taking with their purples, orange, red and yellow with the multitude and variety of wild flowers.  Indian Paint Brush, Lupine, Daises, Columbine, Wild Iris and a host of so many more that I do not even know the name of.

It is a beautiful sight and makes you glad to be alive.  I don’t think that I will ever get used to it and hope I never take it for granted.  I will try to post more photo’s of the wild flowers throughout the summer.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
