In 2010, crows reaped the best of my ripe blueberries and grapes. I was considering what to do for 2011 when I noticed that a mockingbird had built a nest in a brush pile in the garden that I was planning on burning.

I left the brush pile, and the mockingbird has kept the crows out of the garden ever since.
