I am the owner of Cosecha Farms. My primary product is free range/pastured poulty eggs. My primary egg layers are High line browns, but I aslo have black copper Marans and I have Barred Rocks which I use as dual purpose. I also have golden laced Cochins and Barred Rocks that I sell as live birds/chicks to mostly back yard enthusiasts. I have had chickens for more than 20 years. I also have Muskovy Ducks, brown China Geese and American Buff geese. These are for eggs and meat

My sister and I have been raising Rhode Island Reds and Silver Laced Wyandots and Barred Rocks for several years. We find them excellent producers of large, brown eggs and pretty consistently. At the present time our flock are producing about 70% and some are at least 6 years old. They are more or less free range. They are kept in a yard daily until we feel they are pretty well through laying for the day and then turned out to roam. Roam they do over about three acres of the farmstead. We are happy with the results we have had with these breeds. We sell our surplus brown eggs locally for $2.oo a dozen and can sell more than we can accumulate.
