The Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF) hosts a benefactors’ bash at Polyface Farm every year. This event is exciting, casual and inspiring. The things you’ll see and learn and the people you’ll meet are well worth the trip to Swoope, Virginia (2.5 hours south of Washington DC). A big tent is pitched in the back pasture, and a farm fresh breakfast and lunch is served, with an in-depth hay wagon tour led by Joel himself. It’s a family-friendly event and the children have a great time.

This year, the September 7th event is going to be bigger and better, with lots of ways for people to participate. We hope you will join us in the Celebration! at Polyface and the other “Save Your Bacon” events that weekend. Folks from many dietary persuasions can meet at the table to agree that farms like Joel Salatin’s Polyface are the way to future health and rural prosperity.

Proponents of grass-based agriculture and whole foods eating are coming out strong in support of farm food freedom issues. Now in its 6th year, FTCLDF is leveling the playing field by helping small family farms, homesteaders and artisan food producers fend off attacks from federal agencies or overzealous bureaucrats on the state and local level.
