My doctor provided this tip for poison ivy prevention. We all know to wash after working outside, but I assumed using regular hand soap was fine. But instead, use dish soap to remove all of the poison ivy, as dish soap is made to remove oil and grease, which includes poison ivy oil. I now use regular and dish soap after yardwork, and I’ve been poison-ivy free for over a year.
