Here's an easy way to freshen the inside of work boots, sports shoes or other odiferous footwear. Simply half-fill a pair of old (but clean) socks with cedar chips, which you can easily find sold as pet bedding at pet and general merchandise stores. Sew up the tops of the socks and slip them into the offending shoes. If the aroma of cedar is a bit too woodsy for you, substitute an aromatic potpourri mixture.
