I spent the last few weeks looking at all the cars and mostly trucks running on wood gas. I thought there where a lot of them but come to find out there really is not many. Most have many gauges and switches and look like they are a pain to start and drive.
This next video looks way to complected for the average person but claims to be top of the line. I would like to see this guy at the Salt Flats we would tear that truck up in coolness, easy of operation, speed and handling.
So my mission was to build one that was easy to start with little to no motor modification that anyone could operate. One you could drive for miles worry free and even let your mom drive. So I went back to the design board and with this in mind have completed the challenge and am ready to share the driving operation and easy of use of the all new Mercury Beaver XR7.
This video has a lot going on with dials, gauges, switches and the motor compartment looks complicated and I am not sure if there is any time to look at the road while your driving. It looks like you can get to sixty MPH if you got forty miles of strait road. This seems to be the fastest I have seen and would enjoy giving this guy a run for his money in September at the Flats see you there.
The XR7 is build with materials that are easy to construct and obtain and requires very little welding experience. The cooling and filtering system are a new design that I will be testing over the summer and from preliminary results I find it very effective and easy to maintain. The speed is greatly improved as you will see in my next post. So enjoy the rest of the wood powered links and next week you can let me now how ours at Beaver Energy stack up against the competition. Here is a preview of the our new disign.
Below is a typical design of a wood powered truck that you can build and probably works well but I don't think my girlfriend could hoist the wood in or want to tinker under the hood for that matter.
