Owners of alternative fuel vehicles need not worry about being stranded between refueling stations. There’s a growing list of mobile apps to locate those hard-to-find green fuel stops. One of the newest apps is Cleaner and Greener Fuels, offered free of charge by the non-profit Leonardo Academy.
Cleaner and Greener Fuels locates stations around the United States for the following green fuels: electricity, CNG (compressed natural gas), biodiesel, LNG (liquefied natural gas), E85, LPG (liquefied petroleum gas or propane) and hydrogen.
The app’s interactive maps incorporate up-to-date information from the Department of Energy’s Alternative Fuels & Advanced Vehicles Data Center. Users are encouraged to keep the app current by submitting new information. With an estimated 850,000 alternative fuel vehicles operating in the U.S., maintaining accurate information on stations dispensing green fuel is critical for owners of alternative fuel vehicles.
The Cleaner and Greener fuel app is suitable for smartphones and other mobile devices. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Cleaner and Greener website.
