See MAX in Motion: Brink TV Show Spotlights Our DIY Car

By John Rockhold

Tags: MAX, 100 mpg, Brink, Escape from Berkeley,

If you missed the Brink TV show last week, or it's not part of your standard cable package (grrrr), you can still see the program about MAX, captain Jack McCornack and the victory in the Escape from Berkeley race. Visit the Brink video page and click "Brink Package: Escape from Berkeley" if the page doesn't load with that video.

If you're not familiar with our MAX project, read the introductory article, Here Comes the 100-mpg Car and browse through the MAX Updates. For more about the Escape from Berkeley Race, read MAX Wins 800-mile Race, without Gas.

Have you thought about making it a diesel electric plug-in, with a few solar panels on the hood? That may help you a little bit closer the the goal if not put you over the 100 mpg goal.

"Exactly what Max has here" eh? Dang, I was hoping nobody would notice that I'd ripped off the design. :-) All hhmmming aside, scroll down to MAX Update 5: Keeping the Faith (August 15 '08) for Robert Riley's latest, the XR3 (and a few words on the Centurian as well).

HHMMM, seems that I recall a car in Popular Mechanics from the late '70's, early '80's that was exactly what Max has here. I think that it was called the Centurion and was designed by R.Q.Riley out of Phoenix.
