Get to know Molly McCabe of A Kitchen That Works.
What are you going to speak about at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR?
Sustainable Remodeling for Kitchens & Baths.
What are you most looking forward to sharing with FAIR attendees?
Affordable, common sense ideas.
Tell us about your background with your particular topic.
I founded A Kitchen That Works LLC which is a concept to completion Design-Build firm specializing in sustainable designed and built kitchens and baths. I live and work in a three Star Built Green home/office and I foster awareness of sustainable design-build practices through public speaking engagements and published works in magazines and the USGBC’s Green Home Guide. Additionally, I founded and currently Chair the Kitsap Chapter of the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild.
Why should fairgoers attend your presentation?
It is a wonderful opportunity to be surrounded with like minded individuals and professionals devoted to creating, developing and maintaining a more sustainable world.
How will you get to the FAIR, and how far do you have to travel?
I will be carpooling with an exhibitor from my community. I will need to leave my home several hours before it is really necessary to arrive at the fairgrounds but I would prefer to have a bit less sleep if I can carpool.
What are you most looking forward to at the FAIR?
Seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
What advice do you have for attendees?
Eat your proverbial Wheaties because there will be lots to see and do and you will want to keep up your stamina.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have only one thing, what would you choose?
My family and clean water.
Thanks, Molly. We’ll see you at the FAIR!
