LEED Accredited Professionals Can Get Continuing Education Credits from The Evergreen Institute

Evergreen Institute Continuing Ed 

On January 11, The Evergreen Institute received notice from the U.S. Green Building Council that five of its workshops qualify for continuing education credits required for LEED Accredited Professionals.

LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED-APs) are required to take continuing education classes through approved providers to maintain their credentials. Courses approved by the U.S. Green Building Council to maintain credentials are also to be approved for Green Building Council Certification Institute hours (aka GBCI-CE hours).

The following workshops were approved for USGBC: 

 Renewable Energy for Homes and Businesses (2 days)

  1. Basic PVs: An Introduction to Solar Electricity (1 day)
  2. Hands-on Green Building (5 days)
  3. Intro to Small Wind Energy Systems (1 day)
  4. Passive Solar Heating and Cooling (2 days)

Five more courses are currently pending approval. These include:

  1. Designing and Building a Net Zero Energy Home (3 days)
  2. Intermediate Solar Electricity (2 days)
  3. Intro to Straw Bale Design and Construction (1 day)
  4. Hands-on Straw Bale Design and Construction (1 day)
  5. Hands-on Natural Building (2 days)
