Hello,
I am planning to install a closed loop solar hot water sytem with flat plate collectors next year.

I am looking for recommendations on what type of back up system would be ideal. Conventional or tankless? Also if there are any guidelines on sizing the system that would be helpful.

Thanks,
Solarjoe

I see a big shift in costs and materials ....applications .

multiple glass mirror concentrators will be lowest cost  water heating systems .

Im in GDL Mex , gas will be low cost , glass making uses Nat Gas !

     wow    EVEN     lower   cost ...

Maybe even steam engine - electric plants !

Long ago , i thought polished alum , but NOT , glass mirrors are much longer

life and you dont need protection for mirrors , just change em out when they break
