canning of nut butter Options

Need to know if homemade nut butter can be canned?

The closest answer that I can find to this question is in my book 'Stocking Up'.  They said that the previous edition had instructions on canning nuts, but the flavor was lost to the point that it wasn't worth the effort to can them.  They said that this is also the reason that the information is no longer in the Ball Blue Book.  I think your best bet would be to store the nuts in the shell and just make nut butter as you need it.  Or you can just send the nuts to me, I love fresh nuts!
