My guess would be possibly something impacted in her crop.  If that is the case, you can try to a) massage it, see if it will break up and see if you can get it to come back up, or b) cut it open and see if you can get it out.  If it is an impacted crop and you do nothing, she will starve to death.  Good luck!

there are a lot of good farm vets out there. depending on where you live, they usually arent too expensive unless it is a serious matter. most you can call and speak with over the phone, they'll usually tell you what they think and what you can do if anything to remedy the situation yourself. if it is serious you'll have to decide how far you'll want to go and how much you want to spend. there are a lot of vets out there. it doesnt hurt to get advice from a few. good luck!

Hi out there.... can anyone tell me what my 1 year old laying hen (speckled sussex) has wrong with her...she has a baseball size bulge in front of her brest area..her comb is still red  and i believe she is laying still. i hate to put her down ....she keeps swallowing also like it might be bothering her  a little...could this be a tumor im looking at....What should i do???????????? Thanks
