cork vs. true linoleum flooring Options

We're going to be replacing carpet and vinyl flooring, and are trying to decide between cork and true linoleum. Does anyone here have practical experience with either one? Floating, tongue and groove planks are now available for both materials, as are glue-down tiles, either of which we could install ourselves

I wonder about the HDF/MDF inner layer of the plank that forms the tongue and groove, I haven't been able to find out if they are formaldehyde-containing (like most low-density fiberboard). I wonder if one is more durable or easier to maintain than the other, or more suitable for kitchens and bathrooms (with an additional top layer of sealer). Most of the info I've been able to find is from companies either making or selling the materials, but I want to know about drawbacks as well, if there are any.

Thanks for any help.
