Polypays are wonderful. Prolific, will breed out of season, nice market lambs and a good med-fine wool, and docile temperments.

I recommend Coopworths, a medium sized, dual purpose, longwool breed known for easy care. They are the second most numerous breed in New Zealand where they are raised primarily for meat. In this country, most of us also select for nice handspinning fleeces. They are great mothers, and the lambs grow well on pasture without expensive grain supplimentation. You can find more info on my website, www.deerrunsheepfarm.com and our Registry site, www.AmericanCoopworthRegistry.org
