Does anyone have an idea where I can find information on using a shipping container as a house?  I tried the local county building inspector, but the answers he gave me were very vague.  I live in Minnesota.

Would like to set one up on 2 acres."This is the smallest amount of land that can be built on in my area."

Also was wondering where the closest place was that I could get one.

I know this is an old thread but here goes. I saw a show on PBS ..... (this old house) about the very thing you are asking. You might go to pbs.org or your state public tv and search for this old house. There is probably a vhs tape or dvd on the subject. They had some fancy conversions for using shipping containers that looked really sharp. Couldn't tell what they were before. Check it out.
