Bought a Sun-Mar composting toilet. Don't like it. Doesn't work. The company has been responsive but it is limited to 'try this' and 'try that'. Bottom line: it doesn't work. No amount of trying will make it work if it won't work in July!
Anyway, I am taking it out. I have a 4 foot vertical drop from the toilet and I can do another 6 feet at 45 degrees or steeper. But then - to get the crap to where it has to go - I have to run about 50 feet at no steeper than 30 degrees.
I have read things like, "Poop runs downhill!" But I have also heard that anything shallower than 45 degrees does NOT, in fact, run downhill. It just sort of 'sticks' to the side of the pipe. I have been told that when you are at less of an angle than 45 degrees, go to 2 degrees because then the effluent 'floats' along with the water flow.
Does anyone know for sure? Do I have to be 45+ degrees and/or 2 degrees? Or will a 30 degree slope work?
