Cutting up clothes for rags can save money in the garden Options

Recently I was cutting up some old clothes into strips, as I'm experimenting with rag rug making. While doing so, I was carefully cutting out the seams and putting them to one side, thinking I would have to throw those parts out. It occurred to me however that the seams (especially when double or in a sturdy fabric) could be used for tying plants to stakes or wires, instead of buying rolls of very similar fabric strips from the garden supply store.

Another way to recycle old clothing!
