I'm going to be putting chickens into my barn this spring.  My problem is that the best place to house them is on the second floor of the barn.  I'm wondering if I can build some sort of "ladder" that they will be willing and able to use to get up and down from the barnyard.

Thanks

Hi there,

it has been my experience that when the chicks are old enough to go out and be roaming the yard, you let them find their way out, and then they can find their way back home in the evening, (very important)

In your case I think it would be ok to have a 'ramp' from top story to bottom story with raised sides so they don't go all kamakazie on you. And maybe sprinkle scratch on it to lure them down. Once they get the idea it should go easy enough!

I hope this works for you!
