Turn him into an outdoor cat! Sorry, but that''s the only solution. At least since he''s been neutered.. it won''t SMELL as bad.

We have a Chihuahua that was neutered at 12 wks. He still thinks he''s a stud!! And he lives outside too!! Unless my daughter is home!:):)

Getting them neutered does not prevent the spraying. (as you know) The idea is if you neuter them early enough they will not "learn" that they can or have a disire to do so. cherterr is right, there is not much to do w/ a male that has figured out what a fun game it is to spray. Find a nice place outside or a friendly farmer who will take him in.

Letting the cat out may be related to the spraying. If by going outside, he''s discovered that there are other cats in the world, and thinks he needs to mark and defend his turf against the "intruders," that''d do it.

I must be blessed. My tom was 18 months old when I adopted him, and intact. I had him neutered, and he''s never been a sprayer.

You might try an internet search on cat behavior.

My cat who was neutered when he was 2 months old has been walking by walls, doors and furniture spraying it. WHAT DO I DO?! I don't know why he's doing this and I really don't know how long he's been doing it. I happened to catch him the other day. 4 months ago we started letting all the cats go out back for the day. Could this be the problem? Any ideas on how to stop it would be most appreciated.
