I had a friend that was a Merchant Seaman before, during and after WWII. Being on the sea a lot is like being on the land a lot. You get a feeling that you are closer to the Earth. He developed a belief that WHATEVER happened to you after death it could not happen till you decomposed. Was very serious about that. Heaven or Nirvana or WHATEVER would happen eventually but you hang in limbo until you are re-incorporated into the Earth.

Not sure I BELIEVE that but I sure do like the idea.

Just for "jollies", I came to this thread/forum. Hmm...it sure beats being sliced up and thrown to the vultures in Tibet! (my first choice)
