How to get rid of algae on asphalt Options

We have a community in Florida where the ground water has risen due to an abudance of rain in the Gulf of Mexico area of Florida.  The ground water rise has pushed water up through the ground and is running into an asphalt parking lot at residences. Due to this, it is leaving a slick surface of algae and slim on the pavement and several residents have slipped and fell. We dont want anyone to get seriously hurt.  Does anyone have any recommendations to take care of this problem without having to constantly babysit for lack of a better term?  Ie: Diverting it with sand berms to catch the sludge?  I would appreciate any ideas from experience.
