I'm hoping to make our own wool insulation for the little house we are going to build this summer as I have sheep and access to free wool from a breeder. I've read tons about the preparation process which all seems pretty straightforward but one thing I cannot find anywhere so far is some indication of how to calculate the amount of wool needed per square foot. Does anyone have any ideas where I could look/ask? Sure would be grateful for any thoughts.

Sorry, I have no such tables.  I do know there is a 'packing factor', and I know it has to be treated before use as an insulation.  Treatment could be fire and water proofing, etc.

But, I can tell you that 'wool' in the Librum's search engine gave 295 bingos; from dyes, to waterproofing, to carding, etc, etc.  That includes our TMEN index.  'insulation' gave 88 bingos, mostly in the TMEN section.

I would suggest you visit, and run the searches yourself, and gleam what bingos you can use.
