chip stove? Options

From the mouth of babes...

One of my little ones had a question, which caused me to do a bit of thinking.

I remember coal stoves, fed by electric auger, 12vdc and 110vac.  We have one in storage.  No coal.  But they have STRONG augers, as they have to crunch that coal, often harder than wood.

With this season, a LOT of brush piles are out there.

With Mother's recent articles on chippers, I see such could make small fodder for a stove.  They almost dust the brush.

That is what prompted the question from mine kinder.  Why do people not use coal auger stoves to feed seasoned chippage and burn it?

Has anyone got any links or information on doing just this, please let me know.
