grandmadiane,  I too miss the wonderful forums we used to have here. This place is dead anymore. Just a few stragglers pass through here. Its like they wanted this to happen. Have you ever tried to find your way here from the main Mother's site? Its almost impossible to find the link that leads you to here from there. Most folks haven't heard of this place and are not able to even find it.  I've been spending lots of time over at frugalsquirrel forums.  Many thousands of members there, hundreds of postings daily. Plenty of recipes posted. Check it out.

I like to cook by using what is around. We had a small dinner party and I needed a little extra something.

I had canned veggies, an orange and some old brussell sprouts. I figured the  citrus would be the vinegar so I cut up the orange, skin and all with the brussell sprouts. Used that for a garnish on some beets, as vinegar would substituted by them.

Sort of weird but actually pretty nice and our 18 yr old son liked it.
