Over this time, he has discovered four new species of mushrooms, and pioneered countless techniques in the field of edible and medicinal mushroom cultivation. A dedicated hiker and explorer, his passion is to preserve, protect and clone as many ancestral strains of mushrooms as possible from our pristine woodlands. He is the author of six books, owner of more than 20 patents, and recipient of the Natural Geographic Adventures Magazine's Green-O-Vator and Utne Reader Visionary awards. He is the founder of Fungi Perfecti, and works with the National Institutes of Health's BioShield BioDefense Program. |
