Workshop Description

Discuss skinning animals to reduce waste, and then move step-by-step through stations of traditional hide processing, from salting, rinsing, fleshing, bucking, wet scraping, drying for parfleche, dry scraping, egg soaking, various stretching methods to create buckskin leather, and preparing for the final smoking step.

Speaker Bio

Chris Chisholm is founder of Wolf Camp and the Wolf College, an outdoor educational institute in Puyallup, Wash., with programs nationwide. He runs Wolf Camp and Wolf College together with his wife, Kim. Chris Chisholm grew up in northern Minnesota, spent his high school years in Europe and some of his college years in South America, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1991 before moving to Washington.
