Learn how to bring a new value-added farm product from concept to market. Regulations and licensing for Washington processors will be covered. This workshop will be an overview and not an in depth discussion of any one aspect of the process.
Fred has been an organic farmer for 27 years as well as a restaurateur producing numerous value-added products to extend the season, provide stability to employees, and diversify income stream. For the past 7 years, he has been employed at the Washington State Department of Agriculture as the Small Farm Program Coordinator and as an Education and Outreach Specialist within the Food Safety and Consumer Services Division.
