Workshop Description
Several newly arrived pests, diseases and other problems that used to be rare are becoming more widely established in the Pacific Northwest. Learn how to identify spotted wing Drosophila, pea leaf weevil, garlic rust, club root of cabbage, pear scab and other problems – and what to do about them. The talk will provide the latest information on how to prevent and manage these problems using organic methods.

Speaker Bio
Linda Gilkeson is a keen organic gardener with a passion for insects. She has a Ph.D. in entomology. She has co-authored organic gardening books for Rodale Press, written provincial pest management training manuals and published three books for gardeners in the British Columbia coastal region. She is a regular instructor in British Columbia Master Gardener programs and is busy all year giving talks and workshops.
