What do I get if I volunteer?

How can I help?
- Box Office Greeter
- Help traffic flow at the gate
- Help staff pass out wristbands at the gate
- Green Team
- Help attendees recycle and compost discarded materials
- Wear closed-toe slip-resistant shoes and expect to get your hands dirty
- May involve outside work
- Stage Host
- Help staff alert the audience to delays
- Take head counts during presentations
- Keep stage area orderly
- Make notes about audience reactions and presentation quality
- Kids’ Tree House
- Help presenters pass out material
- Help children with projects
- Generally keep order in the kids’ area

I really want to see a particular workshop. What happens if I'm scheduled to work during that time?
Make a note on your application of which exact workshop or presenter you want to see. We can't guarantee that you'll be able to see a particular event if you say you're available during that time, but we will take your request into account when we assign shifts.
I don't want to volunteer during the Fair so I won't miss anything. Can I still help out?
Yes! We need help setting up the Fair the day before it opens and taking things down on Sunday evening. However, most of the jobs during setup and breakdown require heavy lifting.
I'm only volunteering on Sunday. Can I still get free admission before then?
Of course. Just stop by Volunteer Registration to pick up your badge when you arrive.
How do I sign up?
Click the link at the top of this page. You can choose what dates, times and jobs you prefer on the application.
Does the FAIR provide lodging for volunteers?
Sorry, no. If you prefer not to stay at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort, several campsites are located within 10 miles of the Fair.
