Children between the ages of 6 and 12 will be able to choose some alpaca fiber, pick a Kool-Aid color, and learn how dyeing fiber works. Each child will need at least 20 minutes for this activity and will leave with their own dyed alpaca fiber. All supplies will be provided.
Kristie Smoker is the owner, farm manager and partner in a 40-suri alpaca farm, Sweet Valley Suris, located near Hershey, Pa. She also co-owns and operates Sweet Valley Shoppes, which offers alpaca products. Many of the items are handcrafted by Smoker and her daughter, Cyndee Shaughnessy.
