Most of the hops grown in the United States are grown in the Pacific Northwest, but contrary to popular belief, we can grow them on the East Coast, too. Jeanine Davis is a horticulture professor and extension specialist with North Carolina State University who lives, works and runs a small farm in the mountains of western North Carolina. For more than 25 years, she has helped farmers, homesteaders and gardeners diversify into new crops and organic agriculture. Davis is passionate about native medicinal herbs and hops and shares her knowledge and enthusiasm for these special plants at conferences and workshops across the country.
