Some inexpensive hardware and a drill are all you need to give a baking tray a couple tray handles.

Cookie trays are sometimes difficult to lift because they have no handles to grab hold of. To make it easier, purchase a pair of metal drawer pulls or cabinet pulls and install them on both ends of your baking tray. Drill holes in the short sides of the metal tray to mount the handles. You may need quarter-inch machine screws to attach them.

Using the tray handles will prevent you from sticking your thumb into just-baked cake or cookies.
