Revolutionary Finnish Wood-Splitting Axe

Review of a great axe made by Vipukirves.

Make cleanup a snap when you are splitting firewood wood or using a log splitter. Put down an 8-foot by 10-foot tarp under your work area. When you are done, move the log-splitter off the tarp and drag your mess wherever you want it to go. Quick and easy cleanup; no mess or raking.

We use a tarp to cover our log splitter until we have a shed to house it. However, I would hesitate putting a tarp under the log splitter for 2 reason. Both my husband and I are over 7o yrs. old and I'm concerned about slipping on the tarp in case of dew or rain, or catching our boot on an edge. And secondly, when we toss the split pieces of logs onto the ground from the log splitter we will eventually have many small holes into the tarp from the edges of the pieces. I just rake the large pieces from time to time and let nature have the rest.
