Cheryl Long
The editor in chief of MOTHER EARTH NEWS will discuss the magazine's 40th anniversary. MOTHER EARTH NEWS is the oldest and most widely distributed magazine dedicated to sustainable lifestyles. Since its launch in 1970, the brand has been a trusted guide on practical and money-saving information on cutting energy costs; using renewable energy sources; organic gardening; green home building and remodeling; do-it-yourself projects; and conscientious, self-sufficient lifestyles. Today the bimonthly magazine enjoys the highest print circulation in its category.
Dan Lepinski
With more than 35 years of experience in the energy field, Dan “The Solar Man” Lepinski is a respected expert, serving as an advisor to individuals, cities, corporations and even colleges. For several years, he was an associate editor at Home Power Magazine. A few years ago, he became a regular on some of Andrea’s programs, The Energy Show and energizeGreen, until she finally drafted him as a co-host! A true energy geek, Dan eats, breathes, and sleeps energy conservation — and his wife Lisa is nice enough to let him get away with it. Their home is often a test site for Dan's experiments. Of course, their near-zero electric bill every month sure helps, powered largely by 10 roof-top solar panels.
Troy Griepentrog
Troy is MOTHER EARTH NEWS' do-it-yourself guy and resident poultry expert. If you hear the buzz of power tools or the peep of baby chicks around the office, you’ll find him right there to investigate — unless he’s responsible for the noise in the first place. Before coming to MOTHER EARTH NEWS, Troy published Poultry Enthusiast magazine and has dabbled in all kinds of home projects, such as making furniture, building a deck and pergola, and creating various poultry coops and pens. Troy’s also interested in green and natural building methods, sustainable agriculture and gardening. Each project he tries is a bit of an experiment, and he’s happy to share what he learns with our readers.
