Place of Residence: Lawrence, Kan.
Background: I’ve been writing about food for more than four years, focusing specifically on locally sourced food, the hardships of full-time farmers, healthy eating and home cooking.
Personal History: I’ve worked for everyone from The Associated Press to The Palm Beach Post as a writer and editor. My food writing for the Lawrence Journal-World and Lawrence.com has won me a few awards, but I’m most proud of the spotlight I’ve been able to put on the hard work of full-time farmers in Northeast Kansas.
Current Projects: My vegetable garden, my family and finding even more ways to enjoy kale.
Other Fun Facts: I run ultramarathons and write murder mysteries in my spare time (but not at the same time … usually).
