Background and Personal History: A native of Virginia, Deb majored in history at Washburn University. She writes history and covers a variety of topics as a journalist. Deb has spoken to hundreds of groups around the country and appeared on numerous talk radio shows from coast to coast. She serves on the selection committee for the Kansas Hall of Fame and is president of the Shawnee County Historical Society. Deb is married to Kansas Music Hall of Fame Musician Gary Bisel.

Current Projects: Deb is writing the dual biography of Mary Lincoln and Varina Davis, the two first ladies from the Civil War.

Other Fun Facts:  Deb has an alternate ego, Dixie Lee Jackson, who also writes and is an expert on cookin’ and kissin'.
