To really save electricity, remove the 180° loop from your dryer vent hose. This will reduce the drying time by a quarter—and 5,600 watts x 10¢ a kilo watt = 56¢ an hour, or 15¢ a load. Or, to save $5 a month, put a timer on your hot water heater to shut it off at night.
