In our garden, my husband and I leaned these large poles against each other tipi-style, then bound them at the top with natural jute twine (see Image Gallery).

We grew birdhouse gourds on one of the tipis, cucumbers on another and pole beans on the third. I trained them to work up the poles by using the twine and gently wrapping the new growth to the poles.
