Ultimately, the goal shouldn’t be just to create a small number of very fuel-efficient vehicles, but to apply efficient hybrid power to a wide range of popular vehicles, from family sedans and pickups to minivans and SUVs, with sports cars thrown in for good measure. Hybrid systems can make all vehicle models much more fuel efficient while also reducing tailpipe emissions?—?features that will help improve air quality, decrease greenhouse gas emissions and significantly reduce petroleum use.
